WHAT?

This week I have been looking into Louise Goldin’s work experience and history. Since graduating from Central St Martins, she has worked with some big names in the fashion industry; Topshop, Selfridges&Co. & Ghost and covered a number of working roles such as; Consultant Designer, Head Designer & Researcher.

SO WHAT?

This has helped me understand that there are many working options within the industry and I would be naive to think that I am able to graduate and establish my own brand without any experience within the industry whatsoever. As I want to proceed on to Post-Graduate education, in depth research like this is important as it is information like this that helps guide decisions consider different career options.

NOW WHAT?

As Goldin has been an established designer in her own right for a number of years, it would make sense that she has been recognised for this and rewarded with numerous awards. I am going to research this and see what the schemes are & who awards them. This is key information for any new designer as rightly so, we need all the help, support & experience that we can get from organisations, award schemes such as these.

Below is a list of websites that are mainly fashion focussed with some being entirely dedicated to internships/placements/graduate schemes. All worth looking at and exploring for my own growth, career and experience.
