Today was the final industry friday talk of the term.
The guest speaker was an artist called Kate Lyddon.
She spoke about where her career began (Canterbury) a University that prides itself with it’s live life drawing classes.
She moved to Sweden where her interests changed and she became more interested in the action of painting rather than the objects she was painting herself. – like removing the context of the original object.
Her most current work was interesting, she finds inspiration through childhood & folklore tales and changes their contexts.
Her work would’ve been good to look at for my essay as the whole lecture series was focused on context, concepts etc.
She was an interesting individual and I would highly recommend looking further into her work.
